About SRFC, Rugby, and Some History

Springfield Rugby Football Club

SRFC is a sport organization dedicated to playing, developing and promoting rugby in the region for Men, Women and Youth teams.

The Men's club team (unofficially called The Mudpuppies) was established in 1983 and has played regularly in every Spring and Fall season since then.  The Springfield Mudpuppies play at the Division 3 (D3) level, within the Mid-America Geographical Union.  All rugby in the United States is regulated by USA Rugby.

In 2015 women's rugby returned to Springfield RFC.  The Springfield Chaos women's rugby team was established and fully supported as a part of the Club. At the 2017 club AGM the By-Laws were changed to include a women's representative on the Board. Any interested players should  contact the club through the Contact Page.

In 2010, SRFC started to organize an Under 19 (U19), or High School, rugby side in the Ozarks for both boys and girls. These efforts yielded results, with two of our High School boys representing Springfield in a U19 tournament in Kansas City in Spring of 2014!
