In 2015 Whitchurch RFC is a well-established club within the Swalec National League Division 3 East Central C.  Recently the club has enjoyed some successful seasons after a difficult period for the club in the early 2000's. However in May 1993 when Whitchurch RFC visited Springfield it was going through a particularly fruitful period under the guidance of their coach John McCarthy during which they won the Mallet Cup in 1991.
