SRFC New Head Coach

Springfield Rugby Football Club is proud to officially welcome Joachim Andries Badenhorst as our new Head Coach.

Andre hails from South Africa but has lived in Missouri already for 3 years. He is bringing with him rugby standards forged in one of the most competitive rugby cultures in the world. His playing career spans elite youth, representative, and senior club rugby, with extensive experience in high-performance environments.

As a player, Andre was selected to the SA Bokkieweek Sevens squad, touring Portugal as Vice Captain and tournament champion, represented Griffons VKB, and toured England and Scotland with the SA Platteland team. He later captained a championship-winning Sevens side that travelled to Texas, earning a reputation as a leader who competes hard and raises the level of those around him. He has played across the full rugby pathway, from youth to senior club and representative competition.

As a coach, Andre is known for demanding effort, accountability, and trust, while building teams that play for each other. His approach is rooted in physical standards, mental toughness, and clarity of role, with a strong belief that matches are decided by preparation and decisive moments. While he holds players to a high standard, Andre believes rugby should remain enjoyable, purposeful, and driven by a strong team culture.

Andre will be supported by 2 outstanding assistant coaches!

Daniel Moore – Assistant Coach & Forwards Coach

Daniel is a former head coach, club captain, longtime player and a top club man. He brings a deep understanding of forward play, set piece, breakdown work, and has a rare ability to clearly articulate the game and strategy to the big fellas. His leadership and experience will be invaluable in developing a strong, disciplined forward pack.

Dalyn Trippe – Assistant Coach & Backs Coach

Dalyn has been with Springfield Rugby for over a decade and is lightning in a bottle in our backfield. A dynamic rugby mind and a Personal Trainer/Coach at our sponsor Springfield Strength & Conditioning, Dalyn brings speed, creativity, and modern performance thinking to our backs and overall program.

This coaching appointment represents a commitment to standards, development, and the future of Springfield Rugby at every level.
